Sex and Presidents

Over at http://vanillebitch.blogspot.com/2006/02/bush-dont-know-jack.html, I saw a no-doubt doctored photo of a Baptist church marquee, sporting the suggestion that if someone would just give Bush a blow job, we could have him easily impeached. Yes, far easier to impeach a president on his sexual peccadilloes; heavens forbid we investigate his alleged constitutional transgressions or the subterfuge employed to take us to war.

But, that combined with the recent comments on the Do Me List (regarding who will do and not do Republicans), lead me to recall a wonderful piece I read a while back about fucking presidents. Follow the link and enjoy. http://www.cleansheets.com/exotica/garvey_10.27.04.shtml

I think I am going to have to filibuster this link until I get home from work...

VB, when men swim in cold water like that, the shrinkage makes it appear as if they are uncut, whether they are or not...

I know about the VB blog - hence my addressing you as VB... should that be VlB?

Bird, thanks for sharing the BJ marquee. It had been sent to me via email a while back. I had deleted it after enjoying the message. It does give one pause. I will also take the time to study doing the pres.

freya,
my thesis is probably boring to anyone but a writing teacher - haha! but you asked, so here is the answer:

teachers spend a lot of time responding to student writing - commenting on papers and providing written advice. I surveyed and interviwed sudents to see if they worked with those comments, and if they did, how and why. My research has practical implications for teachers - which is what I wanted to focus on- something practical instead of theoretical.

I did read the link at cleansheets.com. Wow! Powerfully written and very thoughtful. And, it was funny, too. I wonder if she did have some influence on how things are going now after that "visit"? Just a thought.

How is your research coming along? I am impressed with your practical approach. As a teacher of adults, I like to find out how to do the job better. With the current teaching jobs, I get approximately 32 hours, over two consecutive weekends to get the students to learn a whole lot of stuff. I really try to teach them test taking skills. Perhaps the most important effort is to get them to begin to think about their decision to change career fields. Much of what I pass on is in Things I've stumbled across along the way. I am constantly amazed at the reasons they will publicly state for making such changes.

Ah well, enough about me. Keep up your good works. I do enjoy reading your blog.

bird - I am going to have to have you explain the difference between romance novels and erotica (since you write it) and porn... I'm keen to know... maybe you can do a guest blog sometime...

Boggsie,
Ah, yes, the difference between romance novels and erotica AND between erotica and pornography. I actually have a rough draft of a piece about those the distinction between erotica and pornography (one woman's erotica is another's porn). Someday I'll finish it up...

Alas, I write cliche erotica most of the time, though I do like my 12/05/05 piece, What Happens When You Suck Peppermint From a Strange Man's Mouth, in which I really attempt to play with the whole notion of fantasy and how it's controlled - bringing the narrator into the tale a bit. And the Kissing poem isn't too bad, though it has some cliche images I think. Ah well...I began writing erotica as the antidote to writing my thesis - very opposite kinds of writing to say the least - hahahaha!

Jack,
Thanks for asking. My research is complete, my defense is over. I have a few revisons and proofing to do on my thesis, then it's off to the printers to be copied and bound and placed on the University's bookshelf to collect dust. But, my research has changed my teaching practice - which is pretty cool actually.

Hmm...checked out your "things I've stumbled across along the way." About that personal power - I find part of my job is convincing students that they have personal power in their writing - can find personal power that way. Takes some doing sometimes, my course is required, so I have students who often don't like writing - though they see the usefulness of it in terms of business and getting a grade in a course. My job is to help them succeed in those aspects of writing, but also try to get them to see the power of writing - what they can get out of on a different level (regardless of the quality of their craft). A challenge - it's a little bit of dance - pragmatics and high flying ideals combined.

Ardliar: WTF is a Haggis Hunter?

Boggs: I think that romance novels give emotional sustinance more than sexual flair (but I do not read them)

Erotica leaves it up to the reader to fill in personal details and "roll" with the fantasy implied whereas porn is like wide open beaver red hot cock BAM in your face shot aaand cut. It is just for the stimulation of the genitals. That is my take.

Boyed:
I like your topic very much. Over here we have a little joke of putting 20 bucks in the thesis and shelving it and then checking up to see if the $$ is still there 5 years later. Obviously if anyone had read it, they woud pocket the cash.
Which reminds me, I need to go check the thesis' for rent money. LOL.... not done that...yet!

Freya:
Lincon had Marphan's syndrome. It is a sad disease. I lost someone to it.

Why does every one say they write about erotica? Where is this illusive erotica? Bird, is that a challenge? You betcha sweet bippy!

It's an MA in English, emphasis in Teaching Composition.

Haggis Hunting is a euphemism.

Useful in erotica when one wishes to avoiid the red pen of the censor (another euphemism)
