Birdsong for the Working SparringK9

(a paltry attempt at glorification and appreciation)
Sing to me O’ Muse!

Of four-foots and steamin’ hot browns,
Nanny-killing stares,
And a dog waggin’ tail, circling round and round.

Sing to me of the witness
Who heard my testifying
Saw my signifying
And recognized the Bird
With thorn impaled.

Sing of the ruff rough
And bark/bark/bark
And growling, snarling, slathering
Dog
Who turned out to be
A true blue hound
A rot beyond compare.

A conservative, agrarian, southern dog
Yet traveled, cosmopolitan, learned, and never square
A hep dawg of jivin’ skill
And rhymin’ schemes
Makin’ all manner of bloggin’ scenes.
A code-switching beast
Extraordinaire.

Sing! Sing, o’ bloggers all,
For the dog days of January
Are up on us!
Sing an opus
A concerto, a baroque.
Sing the blues
What have you got to lose?
Sing and go for broke!

Sound it out staccato
Weave it in and out.
Trill it high
Trill it low
Sing it to and fro.
Shake it up
Shake it down.
Don’t leave no corner of the town
Without the sound!

Bird is callin’.
She’s been stallin’.
No time left to delay!

Call and respond
No time for despond
ency!
Edify, testify and claim him!Not even a song so poor is shamin’!
He’s the dawg – he’s the one - the demidog!
K9 is the dog for our times!

Bark!Bark!Bark!
Flap and Swoosh!
Don’t be no silly goose!
The dog will still be on the loose!

Sing to me O’ Muse!

Of four-foots and steamin’ hot browns
Nanny-killing stares,
And a dog waggin’ tail, circling round and round.

of course your other admirers will be sick. especially percy!!

i will still be stopping by this roost to bark and howl even as SK9 goes inactive. you will not shake me off your migratory path sweet boydie

boney and LL - the pics are sampled from the Internet and are the work of Roy Deforest to whom K9 turned me on.

but yes, boneman, i am an artist hiding in this bird's body - but i am a lousy artist indeed. i make messes - for the process and the fun -and quite sporadically.

btw readers - the deleted comment was spam - i only delete spam.

K9! - hahahaha my "other admirers". percy is precoccupied right now. some other bird i think - or some dame. he is a fickle poesy-man. i suppose his fickleness is what lures me.

but i am glad you will keep track of my flight path! we shan't lose you completely!

(to coin a word)

bird, a magnificent
and memorable tribute to a fine & furry friend -- the k9 might well count himself amongst the living lucky of the fido few to receive such honour -- rottie royalty -- really!

a blog
party sounds
like fun, with
or without drinks,
but for sure where all participants are actively engaged in a single collaborative effort, ie., a party -- a birthday could be a workable theme (reason to party) or something related to blogging, like new posts, possibly by several or all of the participants

anyway, thinking out loud... i'm in for whatever happens

I know how old you will be and it should be a doozie of a party to celebrate your 'coming of age'.

It is a wonderous thing.

i think an asynchonous (sp?) blogging event should definitely occur.

i will muse on this a bit - and hope y'all will too. perhaps we can coordinate later.

at present, i am beset by other commitments. but this blog party is definitely on my agenda.

Petulant Percy,

I am hard-pressed to refrain from planting one of my delicate, dainty, yet nonetheless forceful feet(with prettily-painted toesies) squarely on your posterior. But I wish not to ruin my pedicure, of which I am quite protective(and proud - lovely toesies indeed have I).

But o' uffish one, your sniffling must cease!

Yes, Percy Pet, you are quite distressing me!

Dang!
Came to apologize 'cause I did a blatant disrespect, though quite unintentional.

You did the poem, yes?

Just 'cause it falls out'a m'fingertips on occassion doesn't mean it ain't art...
dang!

So, I reckon that means you ARE an artist, and not particularly a "mess maker" always, eh?

January 19, 2007 5:11 PM
Blogger Bird said...

no aplogies needed boneman.

i am not a visual artist.

and i am far too often a paltry writer.

but sometimes, sometimes, life is good and i turn a phrase, or cast the perfect sentence, or create a poem that works - and then, yes, i am an artist!

but i am indeed a consistently excellent mess-maker!sometimes, i will take a picture of one of my sporadic (and spastic) messes and post it.

alas - no time for messes now - the semester is upon me! squawk!

I remember a story about Cosmo you wrote.....only wish I kept a copy. I do remember it was a work of art imho. Our musical friend Dominic Tiberius did however write a song for him. "Don't You Cause No Mo' Trouble Cosmo"
I gave it an 83 cause you can dance to it......

hello.....

Boyed

(in Fat Tony voice)

Well, it has been a year,
we have shared secrets and friendships and each others trust. We have formed communities and kept nicknames... Boyed, Rottie, Vanille... and now it looks like we are disbanding.

The dog is getting teased it seems, and I am getting made fun of too, in photochop form...

So who needs the blog-a-verse?

I think it has served it's purpose.

I have made some lush and trusted friends.

Do you know that I have sitemeter? and besides you and K9 and Jack K and maybe one or two others, that about 80 people a DAY search out that one Best Friends picture?

I got so annoyed that I deleted it, but Blogger never forgets, and so... My blog exists to be a source of the worlds most annoying best friends drawing.

Sad. really really sad.

Happy Birthday Boyed.

It was really fun helping out with your class.
