Wave That Flag Wide and High For Freedom, Justice, and the American Way

Was it just a few short weeks ago that I said to a friend at least McCain is against waterboarding, against torture?

Hah!

Now McCain supports Bush’s veto of the bill banning waterboarding, claiming, in essence, that although it’s not right, nor just, nor ethical, nor appropriate for the military to use torture techniques (techniques which McCain himself endured as a POW), it IS certainly permissible for the CIA to use those techniques. Or rather, not be limited to the Army’s roster of acceptable torture practices (waterboarding is not on the list).

And it was just yesterday that I told me stepmum that although I didn’t like McCain, at least I wouldn’t be embarrassed if he was my president.

Yeah, right.

Waterboarding – a technique favored by the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia and the Burmese government. Gosh, the US sure does know how to pick its bedfellows, eh? .Ain’t ya proud? Let’s all stand up for the red, white, and blue. Wave that flag wide and high as a beacon of freedom and justice.

In the meantime, the Dems continue to shoot themselves in the foot with bickering, and a show down over delegates looms in the offing.

I despair. There is no hope for U.S.

McCain is pandering... all Republicants have to appeal to their homophobic/xenophobic base if they want to get anywhere on election day...

the only way I can drive my truck to come visit you would be just like this. In a blog.
You see, I have visible plume.
Hey, no wonder.... the muffler is not fully attached. Sounds just like it looks.
t'sall I got, but, it ain't EVEN legal in your state.

And, that means you're winning.
Sure, it may seem bad sometimes. And right now with everybody and their brother trying to tell you who to vote for, why, and who to kiss....well, screw'm.
Yup. Don't even hesitate to think on how, at least, you're in a state that is at least trying to get with the human movement!
Some are, some aren't.
Indiana had enough folks come and say no to nuclear so they didn't get #2 started up (or even finished) and #1 had to shut down. (OK, that's the good news. The bad news is, Lugar....you know, Senator Richard-shut-down-the-rest-of-the-world's-weapons-but-keep-ours-active-Lugar? Well Indiana has a chemical plant that they can't even get rid of because everytime they try, something leaks. The bad news part is mostly for us in Indiana....especially those of us straight west of that stupid holding area! Yes. Dang near due west!)

But, anyway, if things are better in your state, like I said, there's hope for us all!

Well, I dunno.
Maybe.

Happy Easter, anyway. I know it's hard to find Easter eggs around there.
(The last time I visited, one of the cardboard sign holding guys was trying to coax a pigeon in closer......
I'm thinking he had in mind some game "hen" as it were....)
